Ji-Yuan Lin
Professor and Chair of Landscape and Urban Design
My areas of interests are geotechnical engineering and engineering geology. I have two professional engineering licenses of accredited qualifications in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. During the previous study, my research team worked on the hazard assessment of debris flows using Geographic Information System (GIS) , hazard mitigation on debris-flow countermeasure in Lab and field investigation, multivariate analysis and artificial neural network applied on geotechnical engineering, et al. In recent years, my research focus on investigating for debris-flows and landslides had occurred and caused disasters during typhoon or extreme weather events in central Taiwan . To simulate the transportation and deposition of debris-flow events used FLO-2D program, analyze the slope stability by reliability-based methods, establish the threshold values of rainfall for landslides alarm with Tank's model, et al.
I am serving as the Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs since 2009, in charge of important administrative tasks, including classes, grades, admissions, and registration services of CYUT and managing the student recruiting for CYUT.
